What makes our PLA Silk Rainbow filament special?
Our PLA Silk Rainbow filament is specially designed to bring a beautiful shine and vibrant colors to your 3D prints. With its unique formulation, this filament undergoes a mesmerizing color change every 75-85 grams, creating a seamless blending effect between colors. Whether you're printing intricate models or functional objects, this filament will add a touch of elegance to your creations.
Recommended print settings
For optimal results, we recommend using a print speed of 50mm/s with our PLA Silk Rainbow filament. This speed ensures maximum shine resulting in high-quality prints. Additionally, using a lower layer height, such as 0.08mm - 0.16mm , will enhance the details and bring out the best in the colour-changing effect.
Tips for achieving the best results
Here are some tips to help you achieve the best results when printing with our PLA Silk Rainbow filament:
- Make sure the filament is properly calibrated, we recommend Orca Slicer for this as the Lidar may fail due to the filaments silky nature.
- Use a heated bed or apply adhesive to ensure good bed adhesion.
- Experiment with different infill percentages or try to fill the printer bed with several objects for faster colour changes.
- Consider using lower layer heights and slower printing speeds for maximum shine and the best surface finish.

Our filament test Model
For our PLA Silk Rainbow filament test we printed the Chinese Dragon Wine Holder off STLFlix.com using our BambuLab X1C with 0.12 layer height and 50mm/s outside wall speeds. We increased the No cooling for the first 5 Layers to prevent this larger footprint model from warping. Using most of the BambuLab Generic PLA pre-sets we only modified the Flow ratio, Pressure advance and first layer cooling.
