OzFDM Flexible PLA Filament
OzFDM’s Flexible PLA 1.75mm filament is the perfect choice for makers who need strength with added flexibility and durability across a wide range of applications. As a modified, elastic PLA, it combines the ease of printing standard PLA with the pliable, rubber like characteristics of flexible plastics. Designed to bend without breaking, it offers excellent layer adhesion and impact resistance, making it ideal for functional parts such as phone cases, gaskets, wearables, and components that require movement, shock absorption, or a softer touch. Unlike rigid materials, it allows printed parts to flex under stress and return to shape, all without requiring specialised direct drive setups often needed for more demanding flexible filaments.
From protective components and wearable parts to creative designs and rapid prototypes, OzFDM’s Flexible PLA delivers reliable performance across a wide range of 3D printers without the need for extreme print conditions. With consistent 1.75mm diameter, smooth extrusion, and a carefully balanced blend of strength and elasticity, it prints cleanly when dialled in correctly. While slower print speeds are recommended for best results, the material remains approachable for users looking to explore flexible printing without stepping into more complex materials. This balance of usability and performance makes it a versatile addition to any setup, whether producing functional parts or experimenting with new design possibilities.

Built to Bend, Designed to Last
Move With It – Flexible PLA Range
We are proud to offer 13 distinct shades of Flexible PLA, designed for prints that require strength with controlled flexibility. From soft, subtle tones to more defined colours, each filament is engineered to maintain consistent performance while allowing parts to bend, absorb impact, and return to shape without failure.

Disclaimer on Colour Accuracy: The filament colours displayed above have been specified using online hexcode sources and our Nix Mini 3 colour sensor, allowing us to assess and scan each filament shade in person for greater accuracy. Shades may vary slightly from the actual physical product due to differences in screen calibration, lighting, and digital representation.

Flexible Filament, AMS Considerations
Designed to Print Smoothly, With a Few Limits
- Flexible PLA can be used on Bambu Lab printers, however it is not recommended for use with the AMS system.
- Due to the softer, more compressible nature of flexible filaments, feeding through the AMS can lead to inconsistent extrusion, slipping, or potential jams within the system.
- For best results, we recommend printing Flexible PLA using a direct feed setup or external spool holder.
- This ensures smooth filament flow, better control, and more reliable print performance.
- When printed correctly, Flexible PLA delivers excellent flexibility, strong layer adhesion, and clean results, making it ideal for functional parts, wearables, and impact resistant designs.
Designed to Move, Built to Last
Flexible Performance
- Flexible PLA is engineered to bend, compress, and return to shape without cracking, making it ideal for parts that need movement or impact resistance.
- It offers a controlled level of flexibility while still maintaining structural integrity, giving you the best of both worlds.
- This makes it perfect for functional prints such as clips, protective covers, wearables, and components that experience repeated stress or motion.
Reliable, Smooth Printing
- Despite its flexible properties, this filament is designed to print with consistency and control.
- With steady flow and strong bonding between layers, it creates neat results without the extra stringing or unpredictability that softer materials usually have.
- With the right settings, Flexible PLA delivers smooth surfaces, accurate detail, and dependable performance across a wide range of printers.
Comfortable & Impact Resistant
- Flexible PLA absorbs shock and reduces brittleness, making it ideal for applications where durability and comfort matter.
- It provides a softer finish compared to rigid filaments while still maintaining enough strength for practical use.
- Whether you’re printing protective parts, grips, or wearable items, this material offers a balance of flexibility and toughness that standard PLA simply can’t achieve.

Flexible PLA Performance at a Glance
- Flexible PLA stands out for its high flexibility and durability, making it ideal for parts that need to bend, absorb impact, and withstand repeated use.
- While it is slightly more demanding to print than standard PLA, it still offers a manageable experience with the right settings.
- With moderate strength and lower heat resistance, it is best suited for functional indoor applications where movement and resilience are more important than rigidity.
Flexible PLA Technical Specifications

Drying recommendation:
60°C for 6+ hours using a filament dryer / food dehydrator.
Storage recommendation:
Airtight bag or container with desiccant in a cool, dark and dry area to prevent moisture absorption. For optimal long term storage we recommend drying the filament prior to sealing the filament spool in a vacuum bag with desiccant.
Biodegradable under commercial composting conditions. Please do not throw into your compost bin at home.
Printing at lower speeds with Flexible PLA compared to standard PLA allows the material to flow consistently without buckling or resistance in the feed path. With the right balance of temperature, retraction, and movement control, it produces clean layers and strong bonding. Dialling in slower, more controlled settings will give you the best results, especially for detailed or functional parts.
For best results, follow the recommended print parameters provided below to achieve reliable, high-quality prints every time.
