OzFDM's ASA Filament

OzFDM’s ASA 1.75 mm filament is engineered for prints that need to withstand the elements without losing their shape, colour, or strength.

ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) offers superior UV and weather resistance, making it perfect for outdoor applications, enclosures, automotive components, and functional prototypes. With excellent impact strength, dimensional stability, and low water absorption, ASA maintains professional results in any environment.

Its smooth finish and anti-static properties make it easy to post-process and paint, while consistent filament diameter ensures reliable extrusion on a wide range of 3D printers. For makers who need performance that lasts, ASA delivers strength, precision, and resilience in every layer.

Perfect for Engineering, Automotive, and Functional Parts

Built for Strength and Stability

OzFDM’s ASA filament combines the durability of an engineering polymer with the aesthetic quality of a premium surface finish. Designed to endure sunlight, moisture, and fluctuating temperatures, ASA retains its colour and toughness even in outdoor or industrial conditions.

It resists cracking, warping, and fading better than other filaments such as ABS and PLA+ while offering smoother layer bonding and reduced odour during printing. Perfect for mechanical parts, signage, and long-term functional prints. ASA filament is the material of choice when you need strength that stands up to real-world use, indoors or out.

Combine strength with style. Choose from a refined range of ASA filaments colours that maintain their finish and performance, even in demanding conditions.

Strength in Every Shade – ASA Colour Range

OzFDM’s ASA filament range features a broad selection of colours, from professional neutrals to bold statement tones. Each filament is formulated for consistent colour, smooth extrusion, and excellent surface quality. Designed for reliable performance and vibrant, weather-resistant finishes, OzFDM ASA lets you create parts that look as good as they perform.

Disclaimer on Colour Accuracy: The filament colours displayed above have been specified using online hex code sources and may vary slightly from the actual physical product due to differences in screen calibration, lighting, and digital representation. Please note that this colour range is subject to refinement once our Nix Mini 3 Colour Sensor arrives, allowing us to assess and scan each filament shade in person for greater accuracy.

Engineered to Endure

Outdoor-Ready Strength That Won’t Fade or Crack

ASA stands out for its exceptional UV stability and resistance to harsh outdoor conditions.

Unlike some other filaments such as PLA+ and ABS, it won’t yellow, crack, or weaken when exposed to sunlight and moisture. Its high impact strength and temperature resistance make it ideal for outdoor fixtures, automotive parts, or functional prototypes that need to last. With ASA, your prints stay strong, smooth, and reliable.

From Print to Performance - Getting the Best From ASA

Reliable Performance Indoors and Out

ASA is built for environments where ordinary filaments fall short. It combines outstanding mechanical strength with enduring UV and weather resistance, making it the best choice for outdoor applications and high-performance projects.

Whether used for drone housings, signage, brackets, or enclosures, ASA offers a stable balance of rigidity and flexibility that holds up under mechanical stress and sunlight exposure. The result is functional, resilient prints that keep their integrity, no matter where they’re used.

Smooth Printing and Professional Finish

Despite its engineered properties, ASA is surprisingly manageable to print. With a stable extrusion profile between 240°C–260°C and minimal warping when printed in a warm environment or enclosure, it produces consistent, glossy layers with strong adhesion. Its shielded nature helps prevent dust forming on finished parts, and the low-odour formulation makes it suitable for both workshops and ventilated home setups.

Whether you’re building prototypes or advanced parts, ASA offers industrial reliability with clean, professional results.

Smart Storage and Best Practices

For optimal results, keep ASA dry and free from humidity. Store spools in an airtight container with desiccant, and dry at 80°C for at least five hours before printing for maximum performance. Use a bed temperature between 100°C–120°C and moderate cooling for best adhesion and layer strength.

For support material, HIPS or ASA itself provides excellent compatibility. With the right care, your ASA prints will maintain their strength, accuracy, and vibrant finish for years to come.

Quality ASA

I have been experimenting quite extensively with various ASA & ASA-CF brands over the last 2 months and have to say this is up there in my top 3 products. Very consistent quality prints, pretty dry straight from the pack (11 [!!!]-22% humidity), can recommend. We are using more of the ASA-CF in our company but this a well priced quality product if you need an UV stable plastic with great thermal resistance properties.
