OzFDM PA6-CF is a superior quality carbon fibre reinforced Nylon6 filament with excellent heat resistance of up to 200°C. It is made from 85% Nylon and 15% carbon fibre and has been produced with LUVOCOM 3F PAHT CF. For best results, anneal for 3 hours between 80 - 100°C after printing.

OzFDM PA6-CF Filament

OzFDM PA6-CF is a premium carbon fibre reinforced Nylon 6 filament designed for strong, rigid and heat resistant functional parts. Made from 85% Nylon 6 and 15% carbon fibre, it combines the toughness of nylon with the increased stiffness and dimensional stability provided by carbon fibre reinforcement.

Its advanced material composition makes it ideal for automotive components, manufacturing fixtures, mechanical assemblies, brackets, structural prototypes, protective housings and other parts that must remain stable under heat and mechanical pressure.

PA6-CF produces accurate parts with reduced flex, controlled shrinkage and a professional textured finish. A hardened steel nozzle and enclosed printer are recommended due to the abrasive carbon fibre content and high printing temperatures required.

One Essential Shade

PA6-CF Colour Range

OzFDM PA6-CF is available in a single Carbon Fibre Black shade that reflects the technical performance of the material.

Its deep black appearance and subtle fibre texture help disguise layer lines while giving finished parts a clean and professional look. The neutral colour is well suited to engineering prototypes, automotive components, machinery and functional production parts.

AMS Compatibility

Manual Feeding Recommended

PA6-CF is not recommended for use with standard AMS or AMS Lite systems. Its stiff and abrasive carbon fibre reinforcement can create feeding difficulties and accelerate wear within internal tubes, gears and feeder components.

For reliable printing, load PA6-CF manually using an external spool holder or feed it directly from a compatible filament dry box. This creates a shorter and more controlled filament path while reducing unnecessary strain on automated feeding components.

Always check the requirements of your specific printer and material system before use. A hardened steel nozzle is required to withstand the abrasive carbon fibre content.

Strength, Heat Resistance and Dimensional Precision

Engineered for Extreme Performance

Reinforced for Structural Components

The addition of carbon fibre significantly increases the stiffness of Nylon 6, helping printed parts resist bending and deformation under mechanical pressure.

This makes PA6-CF suitable for components that require greater structural stability than standard nylon can provide.

Its strong mechanical performance makes it an effective choice for jigs, fixtures, brackets, mechanical assemblies and functional prototypes.

Parts remain lightweight while providing the rigidity needed for demanding engineering applications.

Stable Performance at Elevated Temperatures

PA6-CF offers excellent thermal performance, with heat resistance reaching up to 200°C under specified testing conditions.

It can maintain its shape and mechanical integrity in environments where standard printing materials may soften or deform.

This makes it suitable for automotive applications, heated machinery, workshop equipment and components positioned near motors or other sources of heat.

Annealing printed parts can further improve thermal performance and dimensional stability when completed according to the recommended process.

Accurate Prints With a Professional Finish

Carbon fibre reinforcement helps reduce shrinkage and unwanted movement during printing, allowing PA6-CF to produce accurate components with controlled dimensions.

Its increased rigidity supports sharp edges, precise features and consistent results across complex engineering models.

The carbon fibre texture creates a refined matte surface that helps soften visible layer lines.

Finished parts have a clean technical appearance suited to prototypes, workshop components and professional end use applications.

Drying recommendation:

80°C for a minimum of 12 hours using a filament dryer / food dehydrator.

Storage recommendation:

Airtight bag or container with desiccant in a cool, dark and dry area to prevent moisture absorption. For optimal long term storage we recommend drying the filament prior to sealing the filament spool in a vacuum bag with desiccant.
