OzFDM Small Round Neodymium Magnets
Ideal for 3D printed cosplay parts, easily removed lids, and custom fridge magnets, the range of small round neodymium magnets from OzFDM are designed for seamless integration into your projects to provide extremely strong magnetic attraction with no added bulk, lightweight, and with easy installation by adding during a print, or glueing in place with super glue or epoxy.
Commonly known as rare-earth magnets, and with stronger attraction and smaller form factor than traditional iron magnets, these magnets have been used by large industrial clients for special magnetic switches through to passionate makers selling magnetic fidget toys at local markets showcasing their wide range of applications in both 3D printed and non-3D printed use cases.

Embed or Glue - Adding Magnets Is Easy For You
Unlike OzFDM's threaded brass heat inserts which are designed for stronger, semi-permanent attachment and require a soldering iron to install, our small neodymium magnets allow you to design snap-on, snap-off parts that are easily detached.
Simply pause a print to add a magnet to a pre-designed internal cavity, or design small circular recesses in your part and super glue the magnets.

High Strength with Compact Form
Small Magnets for Every 3D Print Project
Discover OzFDM’s full range of small round neodymium magnets, precision engineered for makers, hobbyists, and 3D printing enthusiasts.
Each size is clearly listed as Diameter × Height, making it simple to find the right fit for your model or assembly.
With options ranging from 3×2 mm to 15×2 mm, these high strength rare earth magnets provide secure, long lasting hold across countless 3D printed designs and applications.
Applications for Rare Earth Magnets
Quick Swap & Snap On Parts
Magnets transform ordinary 3D-printed parts into dynamic, interactive designs. Use them for quick-swap tool attachments, magnetic lids, or cases that snap shut perfectly every time. They’re a must-have for makers who love functional prints that are easy to assemble and customise.
Magnetic Switches & Encoders
Incorporating magnets into your prints is simple. Create cutouts slightly larger than your magnet’s diameter, then pause your print to insert the magnet before resuming to seal it in place. You can also secure them with a drop of adhesive for permanent installations. Their round shape allows easy alignment and a clean, flush finish.
Fridges & Racking Signage
Despite their size, neodymium magnets deliver exceptional strength and long-term stability. They retain their magnetism for years and withstand moderate heat, making them suitable for both decorative and functional applications. Pair them with OzFDM’s PLA+, PETG, or ABS for projects that demand precise fits and dependable performance.

How To Safely Work With Magnets
Whilst our small neodymium magnets have many possible uses, there are also a number of potential issues and possible dangers that can occur when working with strong magnets.
Please read below when working with the magnets to avoid costly mistakes.
Ensure all magnets face the same direction so your parts attract instead of repel.
You can mark one pole with a marker before inserting for easy alignment.
High temperatures can reduce magnetic strength.
Let your 3D print cool completely before inserting magnets, and avoid printing directly over them.
For secure fits, use a compliant press fit or a drop of CA glue
- This helps prevent magnets from shifting or working loose over time, especially in parts that are handled frequently.
- Epoxy can also be used for extra hold.
Store magnets away from electronics or other sensitive components
- Strong neodymium magnets can affect screens, memory cards, and other devices, so keep them safely separated when not in use.
