OzFDM's PA12-GF Filament

OzFDM’s PA12 GF filament is a glass fibre reinforced nylon designed for strong, durable and dimensionally stable 3D prints. Combining PA12’s toughness with the added rigidity and wear resistance of glass fibre, this filament is ideal for demanding industrial, automotive and engineering applications.

PA12 GF delivers excellent strength, stiffness and resistance to mechanical stress, while maintaining reliable dimensional accuracy. It is suitable for functional components, brackets, housings, fixtures and parts that require long term durability.

When you need a high performance nylon filament for demanding applications, PA12 GF delivers dependable strength, precision and professional quality results.

Strong. Stable. Ready for Anything.

PA12-GF Colour Range

The OzFDM PA12 GF range is available in Black and Natural, offering practical colour options for functional prototypes, engineering components and production parts.

Each spool is manufactured for consistent extrusion, dependable print quality and reliable performance across demanding applications.

Disclaimer on Colour Accuracy: The filament colours displayed above have been specified using online hex code sources and may vary slightly from the actual physical product due to differences in screen calibration, lighting, and digital representation. Please note that this colour range is subject to refinement once our Nix Mini 3 Colour Sensor arrives, allowing us to assess and scan each filament shade in person for greater accuracy.

Optimised for Enclosed, Consistent Printing

PA12 GF performs best in an enclosed printer with stable thermal control. Maintaining consistent heat throughout the print helps reduce warping and supports reliable layer bonding across larger models.

Manual loading or a compatible dry box is recommended where possible, as the filament should remain dry during printing. If using an automated material system, always confirm compatibility with the spool size, temperature requirements and abrasive glass fibre content.

From Print to Performance - Getting the Best From PA12-GF

Strength Meets Engineering Precision

OzFDM PA12 GF is designed for high strength applications where rigidity, durability and dimensional stability are essential. The glass fibre reinforcement improves stiffness and resistance to wear, helping printed parts maintain their shape under mechanical stress.

PA12 GF is well suited to functional components, tooling, brackets, protective housings and automotive parts. It performs reliably in demanding environments where standard nylon or everyday filaments may not provide sufficient strength.

The filament also offers good resistance to impact, abrasion and repeated mechanical use, making it a dependable choice for professional and industrial 3D printing.

Professional Print Quality and Performance

Printing with PA12 GF requires careful temperature and moisture control. A nozzle temperature between 260 and 280 °C and a heated bed between 60 and 100 °C are recommended for reliable adhesion and consistent layer bonding.

Due to the abrasive nature of glass fibre, a hardened steel nozzle is recommended. Use an enclosed printer where possible to help maintain a stable printing environment and reduce warping during larger prints.

PA12 GF should be dried at 80 °C for approximately 12 hours before printing. The result is strong, precise and durable parts suitable for demanding engineering applications.

Storage and Best Practices

To maintain maximum print quality, store PA12 GF in an airtight container with desiccant when not in use. Nylon is moisture sensitive, and exposure to humidity can affect surface quality, layer bonding and extrusion consistency.

Dry the filament before printing and keep it protected from moisture throughout the printing process. Use a hardened steel nozzle, moderate cooling and careful first layer calibration for the best results.

With correct storage, drying and printer preparation, OzFDM PA12 GF delivers reliable performance for functional prototypes, tooling and long term engineering applications.
