Everything you need to keep a 3D printer nozzle clean: cleaning needles in the three most common nozzle sizes to clear partial and full clogs, and a brass wire brush to remove baked on residue from the outside.

  • 30 nozzle cleaning needles: a pack of 10 each in 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6 mm
  • Brass wire cleaning brush: with a comfortable plastic handle, for removing residue from the nozzle

Every piece is the same product we sell individually, bundled together for a cheaper price than buying each one on its own.

Keep Your Nozzle Printing Clean

A partly blocked nozzle is behind a lot of print problems: thin or patchy extrusion, under filled layers and filament that suddenly stops flowing. Burnt residue on the outside of the nozzle causes blobs and marks on your prints. This kit covers both, for the nozzle sizes most printers use.

Clear Clogs

Nozzle cleaning needles are smooth, sharp and flexible. Heat the nozzle to the last printing temperature, then pass a needle matched to your nozzle size through a few times to break up the blockage.

Three Common Sizes

0.4 mm is the standard nozzle on most printers, 0.2 mm is used for fine detail, and 0.6 mm is popular for faster prints and abrasive filaments. A pack of 10 needles in each size covers them all.

Brush Off Residue

The brass wire brush removes stubborn residue from the outside of the nozzle. Brush with the nozzle heated to just below the last printing temperature.

How to Clean a Nozzle

  1. Heat the nozzle to the printing temperature of the filament you last used.
  2. Insert a cleaning needle of the same size as your nozzle from below and move it in and out a few times.
  3. Push some filament through by hand or with the extrude function to flush out the loosened material.
  4. Brush the outside with the brass brush while the nozzle is heated to just below printing temperature.

Safety

A heated nozzle can cause serious burns. Keep fingers clear of the heater block and wear eye protection when brushing, as hot residue can flick a surprising distance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which needle should I use?

Use the needle that matches your nozzle size, so a 0.4 mm needle for a 0.4 mm nozzle. The smaller needles also help with stubborn blockages in larger nozzles.

Will this suit my printer?

Yes, if your printer uses a standard FDM nozzle in 0.2, 0.4 or 0.6 mm, which covers almost every desktop 3D printer.

Is there a kit with filament and tools?

Yes. The 3D Printing Starter Kit includes filament, finishing tools, nozzle care and dry storage in one order.
