Choosing 3D printed wall art

Many pieces of our 3D printed wall art are slim silhouette panels printed in PLA+. They read as a bold graphic from across the room, with fine linework that rewards a closer look, and themes run from animals and forests to roses and florals. Black is the classic choice, and some designs come in other colours too: the Black Roses panel, for example, is offered in matte black, red, dusty pink and gold.

Think about scale and grouping before you buy. A single panel suits a narrow wall or a spot above a desk, while round designs such as the Deer Forest circle panel look balanced in a pair or a trio. Product pages list measurements where they are available.

Hanging and displaying printed decor

On the wall

  • Plan the layout first. Trace each piece onto paper, tape the templates up and adjust until the spacing looks right.
  • Lightweight panels suit removable adhesive strips. Clean the wall and follow the strip maker's instructions.
  • Hang panels at eye level, and leave a little breathing room between pieces in a group.

On shelves and mantels

  • Group sculptures in odd numbers and vary the heights for a styled look.
  • Set pieces back from the edge. Fine details such as wings, horns and points are the most delicate parts.
  • Use LED tealights or LED candles in printed candle holders, not real flames, unless the product page says otherwise.

Caring for 3D printed decor

  • Dust: wipe with a soft, dry cloth, and use a clean, soft paintbrush for deep detail.
  • Sun: keep pieces out of harsh direct sun to preserve the finish.
  • Heat: PLA+ softens with heat, so avoid spots near heaters, fireplaces and hot windowsills, and never leave decor in a parked car.

Wall art and decor FAQs

How big are the wall art panels?

Sizes vary by design, so check each product page. As a guide, the Sitting Fox Wall Art Panel is a flat 2mm panel measuring about 19cm by 25cm, which suits a small wall, a shelf nook or a gallery grouping. If you are filling a large wall, plan on combining several panels.

Will hanging wall art damage my walls?

Slim panels such as the Sitting Fox and Black Roses designs hang with removable adhesive strips rather than nails or screws, so there are no holes to patch. Strips can still lift fresh or delicate paint, so follow the strip maker's instructions and test one in a hidden spot first if you are unsure.

Are 3D printed sculptures fragile?

They are sturdy enough for everyday display, but fine details such as wings, horns and thin points can snap if a piece is dropped or knocked. Lift sculptures by the base rather than a protruding part. Some busts come in several parts, such as the three-part Craniumortis Skull Bust, so read the product page for details.

Can I display printed decor outdoors?

Most of this range is printed in PLA+ and made for indoors, away from strong sun and heat. For the garden, look for the few pieces printed in ASA, a material often chosen for outdoor prints, such as the Miniature Ruins Archway garden ornament. Check the material on each product page before placing anything outside.
