How our 3D printed products are made
Nothing in this range is made in bulk and left waiting on a warehouse shelf. Each of our 3D printed products is printed to order once you buy it, here in Australia, then shipped from Australia. Most pieces are usually ready to ship within a couple of days, and delivery time after that depends on where you live.
Printing on demand is what lets us offer more than 1,000 designs. Some are our own, and many come from independent designers in the 3D printing community. We are an Official Hive 3D Printing Commercial Licence Holder, most designs are sold under the Cubee3D Hive Commercial Licence, and every product carries a source and attribution note crediting the design.

Materials: PLA+, PETG and a few others
No filament knowledge needed, but the material does affect where a piece is happiest.
| Material | What it is like | Examples |
| PLA+ (often listed as PLA) | Crisp detail and a smooth finish. Used for most of the range, especially decor. Heat is its weak point. | Aletas Ribbed Fin Vase, Sitting Fox Wall Art Panel |
| PETG | Tougher, and copes with heat and moisture better than PLA+. Used for many planters, kitchen helpers and bathroom pieces. | Hexa Faceted Succulent Planter Pot, Root-Roll Paper Towel Holder |
| TPU, ABS and ASA | A small number of items: TPU for flexible pieces, ABS or ASA for a few tougher ones such as some garden ornaments. | Check the material on each product page |
Our article What is PLA+? explains the main material in more depth.
Caring for printed pieces
- Dust with a soft, dry cloth.
- Keep PLA+ pieces out of hot cars, off sunny windowsills and away from heaters. Heat can soften the material and strong sun can spoil the finish.
- For a damp spot such as a bathroom shelf, choose a piece printed in PETG.
- Printed items are not recommended for food contact, because layer lines can trap bacteria.
- Articulated toys and keychains have small parts. They are not suitable for children under 3 and are not chew toys for pets.

3D printed products FAQs
How long does a printed to order item take?
Every piece is printed after you place your order, and most are usually ready to ship within a couple of days. Delivery time then depends on where you are in Australia, so we cannot promise a specific arrival date. Shopping for a birthday, Christmas or another fixed date? Order early and leave yourself a comfortable buffer.
Who designs these products, and are they licensed?
Some designs are our own and many come from independent designers in the 3D printing community. We hold an official Hive commercial licence, and most listings carry the Cubee3D Hive Commercial Licence, which covers printing and selling those designs. Each product also has a source and attribution note, so the original designer is credited.
Will I be able to see layer lines?
Usually, yes. Every item is built up one thin layer at a time, and many pieces have a raw finish straight off the printer, so fine horizontal lines are part of the look. Some designs lean into it with ribbed or fluted surfaces that catch the light. The product photos show the finish up close.
Can I get a different colour?
Most product pages list the colours offered for that design, and many designs come in several. Some descriptions also mention other stocked colours on request. If the shade you want is not listed, contact us before ordering and ask whether another stocked colour is possible for that piece.
Can I leave a printed piece outside or in the car?
We would not leave PLA+ pieces in a parked car or in strong direct sun, because the heat can soften them and affect the finish. PETG copes better with warmth and moisture, and a few garden ornaments are printed in ASA, a material often chosen for outdoor prints. Check the material on the product page first.
