18 Colours. Endless Ideas.
Built on Colour
Whether you're prototyping, printing functional parts or creating something unique, PLA Basic delivers dependable quality in a colour to suit every project.

Please note: The colours shown and the accompanying HEX codes are provided as a general digital reference only. Actual filament colours may vary slightly due to lighting conditions, screen settings, photography and the 3D printing process.

Simple Spool, Easy Upgrade
AMS-Compatible? Yes, but...
Every roll of OzFDM PLA Basic is supplied on a thinner, standard spool. While it performs well for everyday printing, those using AMS or multi-material setups may want to mount it on their own external AMS-compatible spool to ensure the best results and consistent feed quality.
If you prefer to skip that step, take a look at our PLA+ range, which comes ready to go on a full AMS-compatible spool for a smoother, more convenient printing experience.

PLA Basic's Performance Profile
- Highlights PLA’s biggest strengths, such as its very easy printing behaviour, low warping, and smooth surface finish that suits detailed models and visual prototypes.
- Shows where PLA is less confident compared with tougher materials, including lower impact strength, durability, and heat and UV resistance, making it better for low stress indoor parts.
- Gives a balanced snapshot that explains why PLA remains a go to, beginner friendly filament for learning your printer, quick concept models, and decorative prints where ease of use matters more than ultimate toughness.
Designed for Learning, Creating, and Everyday Use
Easy to Work With
PLA Basic is simple to use and delivers steady, clean prints with very little effort. It is ideal for beginners, classrooms, and hobby projects where ease and consistency matter most.
With smooth flow, low warping, and a tidy surface finish, it performs well on almost any 3D printer using standard temperature settings, with no complicated setup needed.
Great Value and Everyday Performance
OzFDM’s PLA Basic offers dependable quality at a friendly price, perfect for daily printing and learning the ropes.
It handles simple models, prototypes, and creative projects with ease, giving consistent results that look great straight off the bed. It proves that you can still get reliable performance without paying more for advanced materials.
Clean and Consistent Prints
PLA Basic produces smooth layers and neat edges, making it easy to achieve tidy results even on entry level printers. It adheres well to the print bed and cools evenly, reducing the chance of curling or uneven lines.
With reliable performance and a clean finish, it helps bring your designs to life exactly as you imagined.
