Filament slowly absorbs moisture from the air, and damp filament prints with stringing, bubbling, rough surfaces and weaker layers. Sealing each roll with desiccant in a vacuum bag is a simple, low cost way to keep filament printing like new between jobs.
Vacuum Seal Bags
Filament roll vacuum seal bags are made from tough polypropylene and sized at 340 x 300 mm to suit standard 1 KG rolls, with a strong seal for long term storage.
Silica Gel Desiccant
Silica gel desiccant bags hold 5 grams of desiccant in a non woven fabric bag. Drop one in with each roll to absorb any moisture left in the bag.

Already have the Filament Storage Starter Kit? This pack gives you ten more bags and desiccant to use with the same pump as your collection grows.
How to Store a Roll
- Dry the filament first if it has been left out, following the drying recommendation on its product page.
- Place the roll in a bag with a desiccant bag.
- Seal the bag and pump the air out.
- Store somewhere cool, dark and dry until you need it.

Do I need a pump?
Yes. The bags are sealed with a vacuum pump. The Filament Storage Starter Kit includes a hand pump, 5 bags, 5 humidity indicator cards and 5 desiccant bags.
Will the bags fit my filament?
They are sized for standard 1 KG filament rolls, including every 1 KG roll in our range.
How many rolls does this pack store?
