Prints That Come Alive After Dark
Glow in the Dark PLA prints like PLA but keeps working after the lights go out. Leave a print in the sun or under a bright light and it stores that energy, then releases it as a glow in the dark. With four colours in one pack, you are set for Halloween, kids' rooms, safety markers and anything that needs to be found at night.
Charge and Glow
Glow in the Dark PLA charges when exposed to sunlight or strong indoor lighting and gradually releases a visible glow. Thicker walls and higher infill put more glowing material in the part for a stronger effect.
Halloween and Beyond
Print skulls, pumpkins, ghosts and trick or treat buckets, or go practical with light switch markers, stair edge markers, signage, model details and toys.
Hardened Nozzle Required
The strontium aluminate powder that makes the filament glow is abrasive. A hardened steel nozzle is required, as a standard brass nozzle will wear down very quickly.
Tips for the Brightest Glow
- Fit a hardened steel nozzle before loading the filament.
- Use thicker walls and higher infill so there is more glowing material in each part.
- Charge prints in strong light. Direct sunlight or a bright lamp charges the glow faster and more fully than dim room lighting.
- Keep the room dark when you want to show it off. The glow is easiest to see in full darkness.

Nozzle and AMS Notes
Hardened steel nozzle
Glow in the Dark PLA contains abrasive phosphorescent particles, so a hardened steel nozzle is required.
Using an AMS
It can be used with an AMS with the correct setup, but over long term use the abrasive particles can wear AMS feeders, funnels and gears, and may cause feed issues. To avoid that wear, print it from an external spool holder.
Keeping Filament Dry
PLA slowly absorbs moisture from the air, which can lead to stringing and rough surfaces. Store open rolls in an airtight bag with desiccant. If a roll has been left out, dry it at 40°C to 45°C for 4 to 6 hours in a filament dryer before printing.

How long does the glow last?
It depends on how long and how brightly the print was charged, and on wall thickness and infill. Thicker parts charged in strong light glow longest.
Can I choose different colours?
The pack comes in the colours listed. For other colours, add extra rolls from our filament range. Once you have three or more individual rolls in your cart, our filament volume pricing applies to those rolls.
