OzFDM ASA-CF filament is an advanced 3D printing material, offering superior strength and resistance due to its carbon fibre reinforcement. This 1.75mm filament has a diameter tolerance of ± 0.05mm, and comes in a 1KG spool for long-term use. It's the perfect choice for engineering, automotive, and other industrial applications. In addition to being reinforced with carbon fibre, ASA is also UV resistant, making it the preferred choice for outdoor projects.

OzFDM's ASA-CF (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate + Carbon Fibre) combines the outdoor durability of ASA with the added strength and rigidity of carbon fibre reinforcement. Designed for high performance parts that need to withstand harsh environments, ASA-CF delivers excellent UV temperature resistance while maintaining shape and dimensional accuracy over time. The carbon fibre infusion not only boosts stiffness but also reduces warping and shrinkage, resulting in clean, professional prints with a refined matte finish that hides layer lines. Perfect for functional components, automotive parts, industrial tools and prototypes, or end use applications, ASA-CF offers the strength, precision, and visual appeal needed for demanding real world projects required to last.

Precision and power wrapped in a carbon fibre sheen.

Sleek. Strong. ASA-CF.

Our ASA-CF is available in 4 shades that highlight its carbon fibre reinforcement and sleek matte texture.

The overall finish gives printed parts a professional, engineered look that hides layer lines and resists fading over time, making it the perfect filament and shade for any of your project needs, required for either indoors or outdoors.

Disclaimer on Colour Accuracy: The filament colour displayed above has been specified using online hex code sources and may vary slightly from the actual physical product due to differences in screen calibration, lighting, and digital representation. Please note that this colour range is subject to refinement once our Nix Mini 3 Colour Sensor arrives, allowing us to assess and scan each filament shade in person for greater accuracy.

Feed ASA-CF from an external spool holder.

Not Recommended for the Bambu Lab AMS

Bambu Lab advises against running third party fibre filled filament through the AMS. Its own filament guide warns that some brands of carbon and glass fibre filament are "too hard and rough, which can easily damage the AMS / AMS lite channel", and that others are "too brittle and prone to break" inside it. Where the AMS is listed as supported for a fibre filled material, that entry refers to Bambu Lab’s own spools, not to third party filament.

Feed ASA-CF from an external spool holder or a sealed dry box straight into the printer instead. The shorter, straighter filament path keeps the abrasive fibres away from the AMS gears, PTFE tubing and funnel, lowers feed resistance and gives steadier extrusion on long prints. A hardened steel nozzle is still required.

ASA-CF prints best in a stable, enclosed printer and should always be dried thoroughly before use. It releases fumes during printing, so air filtration is recommended for comfort and safety. A 0.6 mm hardened steel nozzle suits it well and 0.2 mm nozzles are not compatible. The material is also more brittle than standard ASA, so handle spools and printed parts with care.

The Power of ASA-CF

Built for Demanding Environments

ASA-CF brings together the strength of carbon fibre and the reliability of ASA to deliver exceptional performance in harsh outdoor or industrial conditions.

The filament offers impressive UV and heat resistance, ensuring parts stay dimensionally accurate even after extended exposure to sunlight or fluctuating temperatures.

Its carbon fibre reinforcement reduces warping and shrinkage, allowing you to print large, functional components with confidence.

The smooth matte finish adds a refined, professional look that hides layer lines and elevates every model’s appearance. It is engineered for users who value both toughness and a clean aesthetic finish.

Durability without the Compromise

The carbon fibre infusion gives ASA-CF its signature stiffness and strength, ideal for parts that need to endure stress or mechanical loads.

Despite its rigidity, the material maintains excellent layer adhesion and minimal distortion throughout the print process. It is perfect for high performance prototypes, brackets, and fixtures that demand both precision and durability.

Due to ASA-CF being an abrasive material, a hardened steel nozzle and enclosed printer are essential, which can add to initial equipment costs but ensure a more reliable printing experience.

With proper drying and correct setup, ASA-CF provides dependable results while protecting your printer from unnecessary wear.

Made for Real World Performance

From automotive panels, outdoor housings, functional prototypes, industrial tools, sporting and utility gear, ASA-CF is built for tasks where standard materials such as PLA, PETG, or ABS often fall short.

PLA may soften under heat, PETG can lose rigidity outdoors, and ABS tends to warp or yellow under UV exposure.

ASA-CF is a filament that functions with stability under sunlight and varying temperatures making it a popular choice for engineers and makers who want prototypes and models that they can depend on for a long time.

Our ASA-CF combines strength, weather resistance, clean matte texture and a sleek black shade, giving your prints a professional edge, ready to function and impress straight off the build plate.

Great quality material

This produces some incredibly tough and consistent parts. The CF proportion gives a very nice finish to the point where at small layer heights you can barely tell its FDM at all. Easily has become my favourite material to print with.

Great quality filament. Just a little disappointed in the colour - not even close to advertised.

The red ASA-CF looks black with shade of brown when printed

Hi Nando,

We are glad to hear that the filament printed well and will work to review the colours on the site for the newer stock. The photos on the site are taken of the rolls as they come out of the box under a studio light but we will work to add up the hex codes of how they are coloured once printed.
