OzFDM PLA Matte Filament

Our 1.75 mm PLA Matte filament is the perfect choice for makers who value smooth texture, soft colours, and consistent performance as it provides the same reliable print quality as standard PLA while offering a refined, low gloss finish that reduces visible layer lines and gives each model a polished look.

Matte PLA filament from OzFDM delivers professional results across detailed models and product prototypes to artistic displays and hobby projects.

Combining our accurate and consistent 1.75 mm filament with an enhanced matte formulation, this filament allows you to easily create clean, cosmetic, warp free prints with reliable precision and smooth surface detail throughout, all without needing any special print settings, nozzles, or enclosures.

An OzFDM Customer Showcase

Matte PLA Goes to Space

Recently a number of custom 3D-printed 'Topolokis' blocks, created by Professor Arcady Dyskin from the University of Western Australia, were produced by Global3D using premium PLA Matte filament from OzFDM with different colours used to showcase different designs.
These 3D printed blocks were showcased at the 2025 International Astronautical Congress in Sydney and are meant to be the literal building blocks for life on the Moon and Mars.

Smooth Colour for Every Print

Print in Colour – PLA Matte Range

The OzFDM PLA Matte collection features 22 colours, from rich primaries to gentle pastels. All colours have a gentle matte surface that diffuses light evenly, creating clean details and a professional appearance in your 3D prints. Designed for consistent flow and balanced pigmentation, PLA Matte brings depth and sophistication to any project.

Disclaimer on Colour Accuracy: The filament colours displayed above have been specified using online hex code sources and may vary slightly from the actual physical product due to differences in screen calibration, lighting, and digital representation. Please note that this colour range is subject to refinement once our Nix Mini 3 Colour Sensor arrives, allowing us to assess and scan each filament shade in person for greater accuracy.

No Tangles, No Shine

AMS-Compatible Spool for Smooth Matte Printing

Every roll of OzFDM PLA Matte is supplied on a standard 200 mm AMS compatible spool, allowing effortless filament changes during printing.

Built for smooth use with Bambu Lab’s AMS and other multi material systems, it provides reliable feeding and steady performance. The matte surface gives each print a refined, low-gloss look hiding layer lines, producing a professional finish.

Filament Designed for Clean, Professional Prints

Refined Surface Finish

PLA Matte filament delivers a smooth, soft texture that hides print layers and removes unwanted shine which results in a clean and balanced surface that looks professional straight off the print bed.

This finish makes it an excellent choice for presentation models, decorative parts, or product prototypes where appearance is important.

With even colour distribution and consistent layer alignment, PLA Matte produces uniform tones which allows you to create parts that look refined and complete without any need for post print processes.

Consistent and Reliable

PLA Matte is made for steady printing performance on both open and enclosed 3D printers by providing excellent bed adhesion, stable flow, and accurate feeding to prevent clogs during longer builds.

The material resists curling and holds its shape while printing, maintaining details and smooth results with minimal effort and delivering great dimensional accuracy and bed adhesion.

Whether you are producing small intricate designs or large scale display models, PLA Matte is a reliable filament that consistently delivers quality results, while saving valuable time and reducing waste.

Clean and Safe to Print

Crafted from plant-based resources, PLA Matte offers a low odour and low emission printing experience that is safe for most indoor environments, such as workspaces, classrooms, and studios.

Known for its lower emission of harsh chemical smells often linked to other materials, PLA Matte is great for extended indoor print sessions although sufficient ventilation is highly recommended.

It gives a smoother printing experience while supporting a cleaner and more sustainable approach to your design. Ideal for those who value both print quality and a mindful workspace.
