Matte PLA gives a soft, low-shine surface that hides layer lines. OzFDM recommends 220 °C for it, a little hotter than our other PLAs. |

It is stiffer than PLA+ (1500 – 1700 MPa tensile modulus) but stretches only 6 – 7 % before breaking, so use it for display parts, housings and models rather than clips and snap-fits. |

The XL's 360 × 360 × 360 mm build volume suits large cosmetic parts, and its 16-tile heatbed heats only the area under and around the print, so a single small part does not heat the whole bed. |

Multi-tool: PLA-only jobs use Prusa's 15 mm³ minimal purge on the wipe tower. If a dark colour shows in a light one after a tool change, raise the purge in small steps. |

Slicer: PrusaSlicer with the Prusa XL printer profile and a 0.4 mm nozzle. Dry the filament at 40 – 45 °C for 4 – 6 h before a long print; every figure above assumes dry filament. |

Brittle clips and snap-fits: Matte PLA stretches only 6 – 7 % before breaking. Print parts that need to flex in PLA+ or PETG instead. |

Stringing: Dry at 40 – 45 °C for 4 – 6 h and drop to 215 °C. |

Clogs on multi-tool jobs after long idle periods: Check that Ooze prevention is on. With it off, every toolhead stays at print temperature, which Prusa warns can degrade filament in the melt zone and clog the nozzle. |
