ASA-CF is abrasive, so print it only through a hardened steel nozzle. The X1C's stock 0.4 mm nozzle is hardened steel, but check any hotend you have swapped in. |

OzFDM suggests a 0.6 mm hardened steel nozzle as the ideal size for ASA-CF, since a larger nozzle is less prone to fibre clogs. The figures above are for 0.4 mm. Do not use a 0.2 mm nozzle. |

Bambu Lab advises against running third-party carbon fibre filament through the AMS, so feed it from the external spool holder. Parts are stiffer but more brittle than plain ASA. |
|
|
The X1C has no chamber heater and its bed tops out at 110 °C. Close the door and top glass and let the bed heat soak for a few minutes before large prints. ASA-CF gives off fumes, so print in a ventilated room. |
|
|
Slicer: Bambu Studio. Start from the Generic ASA filament preset and set the temperatures above. Every figure assumes dry filament, so dry at 80 °C for at least 5 h before a long print. |

Troubleshooting |
|
Intermittent under-extrusion or a partial clog: Fibre is packing in the nozzle. Dry the filament, clear the nozzle with a cold pull, and consider a 0.6 mm hardened steel nozzle. |

Filament snaps in the feed path: ASA-CF is more brittle than plain ASA. Dry it and avoid tight bends in the PTFE tube. |
|
Warping on long parts: Raise the bed to 110 °C, keep the door and top glass closed, heat soak the chamber before starting and add a brim. |
