High Speed PLA is a toughened PLA made to melt and extrude evenly at speed, so it suits Bambu Studio's faster process presets better than standard PLA. |
|
|
Faster printing needs more heat. Run nearer 210 °C at moderate speeds and nearer 220 °C at the top of the speed range, but do not go past 220 °C. |
|
|
Speed is also capped by the max volumetric speed in the filament preset. If fast prints show gaps or rough walls, the hotend has run out of flow, so lower the speed. |
|
|
The H2D sets its chamber fans and top vent by filament type, so keep a PLA preset selected and leave chamber heating off. Bambu Lab warns that a hot chamber can soften PLA in the extruder and cause clogs. |
|
|
Slicer: Bambu Studio. Start from the Generic PLA filament preset and set the temperatures above. Every figure assumes dry filament, so dry at 40 – 45 °C for 4 – 6 h before a long print. |

Troubleshooting |
|
Gaps in walls or thin top layers at speed: Flow limit reached. Drop the print speed by about 20 % or raise the nozzle to 220 °C. |
|
Ripples beside sharp corners: This is motion, not filament. Lower the outer wall speed and leave inner walls and infill fast. |
|
Warped corners on long flat parts: Wash the plate with warm water and dish soap, raise the bed to 60 °C and slow the first layer to 20 mm/s. |
