PLA Basic is our everyday value PLA, with 45 – 49 MPa tensile strength and a 53 °C heat deflection temperature. Use it for prototypes and display pieces, and keep finished parts out of hot cars. |

The XL's heatbed is made of 16 individually controlled tiles and heats only the area under and around your parts, so one small part on the 360 × 360 mm bed does not heat the whole sheet. |

PLA Basic ships on a thinner standard spool. Check that it sits square and turns freely on the XL's spool holder before you start a long print. |

Multi-tool: Prusa's default minimal purge for PLA-only jobs is 15 mm³ on the wipe tower. Leave Ooze prevention switched on so parked toolheads drop to their idle temperature instead of leaking filament. |

Slicer: PrusaSlicer with the Prusa XL printer profile and a 0.4 mm nozzle. Dry the filament at 50 °C for 5 h before a long print; every figure above assumes dry filament. |

Troubleshooting |
|
Stringing between parts: Dry the roll, then drop to 205 °C. On multi-tool jobs, check that Ooze prevention is on so idle toolheads are not sitting at print temperature. |

Corners lifting on large, flat parts: Wash the sheet with warm soapy water, keep the bed at 60 °C and add a brim in PrusaSlicer. |

Soft or drooping overhangs: Keep the part cooling fan at 100 % and drop the nozzle 5 °C. Slow the outer walls if the overhang is steep. |
