Chubby Dude

Meet the Chubby Dude: a round, ribbed head with a broad brow, a long straight nose and a small closed mouth, borrowed straight from the Moai statues of Easter Island and softened into something friendlier. It is part of the wider Dude family of vases, and this is the chunkiest, most huggable member of the lot. What looks like a fabric or basket weave is actually the print itself: continuous vertical ribs left by the 3D printing process, on full display rather than sanded away. We print it in PETG Basic, which holds that fine ribbed texture just as sharply as a decorative filament while staying comfortable with the water or damp floral foam a real vase deals with day to day. The wide open top happily takes a loose bunch of eucalyptus, a single dried seed pod, or nothing at all, since the face carries the piece on its own. The neck narrows in below the chin and the base flares back out, so it sits steady on a shelf, console table or windowsill without any wobble.
