Structure Clock

Most 3D printed objects hide their infill inside a solid shell. This one puts it on display. The Structure Clock drops the top shell to zero, so the honeycomb lattice that normally holds a print together becomes the entire face design, cell after cell catching the light. Each clock is printed as a single round shell in PLA+, with a small flat square left in the centre where a standard quartz clock mechanism clips in. Slim black hour and minute hands and a fine red second hand sit cleanly against the textured face, giving it a quietly modern, almost architectural look. It hangs on the wall using a built in hook, or sits on a desk or shelf using the separate stand piece. Because the pattern comes from the print settings rather than a mould, we can vary it: the classic honeycomb, a crossed grid, or other structure patterns, and the colour is yours to choose. Originally designed by Czech maker Martin Zampach, this build brings a proper engineering trick into the living room. Printed to order here in Australia, ready to hang or stand within days.
