Status, September 2026: Still in production. Bambu Lab said in February 2026 that it has no plans to phase out the P1S in the foreseeable future. The newer P2S now sits above it in the range, and the open-frame P1P was discontinued on 10 February 2026.
The Bambu Lab P1S is a fully enclosed CoreXY printer with the same 256 mm build volume and AMS support as the X1 Carbon, without the Lidar sensor or the hardened steel hotend.

About the P1S
The P1S builds on the P1P. Bambu Lab added a fully enclosed chamber, extra cooling (an auxiliary part cooling fan, a chamber regulator fan and a control board fan) and an activated carbon filter for materials such as ABS that give off odours while printing.
The enclosure makes ABS and ASA practical, which open-frame machines struggle with in a cold or draughty room. The 100°C bed is lower than the X1 Carbon's, and OzFDM polycarbonate calls for a 100–120°C bed, so polycarbonate sits at the edge of what the P1S can do.
The P1S ships with a stainless steel nozzle. Bambu Lab does not recommend printing carbon or glass fibre filaments until the extruder and hotend have been upgraded to hardened parts, so plan for that before buying PA-CF or PETG-CF.
Compared with the X1 Carbon, the P1S has no Lidar first-layer inspection. It keeps the fast CoreXY motion, vibration compensation, automatic bed levelling and Bambu Studio integration, and the AMS (sold separately or in a combo) adds multi-colour and multi-material printing from up to four spools per unit.

Print Profiles
P1S print profiles are listed on the tag page below as they are published. Until then, the X1 Carbon profiles for PLA, PETG, ABS and TPU are a close starting point because the two machines share the same motion system and build volume. Keep bed temperatures at or below 100°C, and skip the carbon fibre profiles unless you have fitted hardened parts.
