Printing Notes

PETG+ is modified PETG that prints at lower nozzle and bed temperatures than standard PETG: 210 – 230 °C and 50 – 70 °C. It still gives a 68 °C heat deflection temperature and a clean satin finish.

OzFDM rates PETG+ at 40 – 60 mm/s. That is slow for the XL, so large parts take a while; plan long jobs rather than raising the speed.

PrusaSlicer warns when the filaments in one job need very different bed temperatures. PETG+'s 50 – 70 °C bed overlaps PLA's 25 – 60 °C, so the two can share a 60 °C bed on a multi-tool XL.

Multi-tool: Prusa's default minimal purge for non-PLA materials is 35 mm³. Leave Ooze prevention on so parked PETG+ toolheads cool to their idle temperature.

Slicer: PrusaSlicer with the Prusa XL printer profile and a 0.4 mm nozzle. Dry the filament at 70 °C for 5 h before a long print; every figure above assumes dry filament.

Troubleshooting

Stringing between parts: Dry at 70 °C for 5 hours, then try 220 °C.

Poor bed adhesion: Wash the sheet with warm soapy water, wipe it with IPA and keep fingers off the print area. Run the bed at 70 °C for the first layer.

Prints stick too well and damage the sheet: Use glue stick as a release layer on smooth PEI, or print on the textured sheet. Drop the bed to 65 °C.
